Story of El Adorable

Inspired by Bacardi from the time during the American prohibition, in Cuba. The myth of Cuba to be known as an island of happiness was born at this period, because most Americans did not disdain to take a ride on the island, as long as they could afford, for drinking and smoking cigars, spending large sums of money in cocktail bars and restaurants, casinos and brothels.

During this time, Bacardi had mounted an advertising campaign that encouraged the Americans to visit Cuba and soak up both sun and rum. The tourists, upon landing in Havana, were often welcomed by Rafael Valiente, nicknamed “Pappy”. He was a loyal member of the Bacardi Company and he had the task to bring them to visit the Bacardi building and make sure the guests would have a great time in Havana. It worked: American tourism to Cuba doubled, from around 45,000 to 90,000 tourists a year.

Bacardi, in fact, become one of the most popular rum in the new world, and with him, historical cocktails were created in the Havana’s bar such as Frozen Daiquiri & Hemingway Daiquiri, both famous for being the favorites of the writer Ernest Hemingway, along with Mojito and El Presidente - named in honor of the President of Cuba - which quickly became the preferred drink of the Cuban upper class.

The recipe of El Adorable is based on a simple creation, suitable for both men and women, giving a sense of freshness and sweetness from fresh celery, fresh pineapple juice and raspberry syrup, sourness from the fresh lime juice mixed with flavours of orange, rhubarb and genetian from the Aperol, combined with delicate notes of herbs, vanilla, almond and tropical fruits from the elegant and tasteful Bacardi Superior.
